Spreadsheet Views
You use the spreadsheet view to perform standard spreadsheet operations on data stored in a data grid. Spreadsheet views are useful when you want to enter or edit data in multiple rows.
There are two types of spreadsheet views:
- persistent spreadsheet views
- temporary spreadsheet views
The persistent spreadsheet view allows you to exchange the data grid for a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet stays enabled when you save, close, and reopen the scenario. The formatting and formulas you define in the spreadsheet are maintained for as long as you keep the spreadsheet enabled.
When you disable the spreadsheet and display the data grid, the formatting and formulas in the spreadsheet are lost; only the field values are retained in the data grid.
To enable the persistent spreadsheet view, choose Enable Spreadsheet Views from the Spreadsheets menu. To enable a particular spreadsheet, select the spreadsheet name in the Spreadsheet menu. When you select the workflow tab, the spreadsheet appears instead of the data grid.
The temporary spreadsheet view opens a modal window in MineSched. The modal window allows you to use spreadsheet functions to enter data for the data grid. If you click OK to close the modal window, the values are saved in the data grid. If you click Cancel to close the modal window, any changes you made to the values are discarded. Temporary spreadsheet views are available for only:
- data grids in the Setup Development tab
- the Velocities data grid in the Full path and Empty paths tabs in the Setup Schedule > Material Flow > Haulage tab
To access a temporary spreadsheet view, click the Edit in spreadsheet view icon at the top of the data grid.
